I know it's been a while since I hosted this lunch event but I am still super duper excited to share the story to you, well simply because it's too good to keep it for myself, first of all, special thanks for my blogger and social media influencer friends who made the effort to come and spent some time to have lunch here.
Confirming the floating news, after the 4-year contract with Luke Mangan ends, what was Salt Grill is now replaced with a new concept from the group: ALTITUDE GRILL, a classic Western steakhouse that's ready to grill and you some high quality proteins! Was invited to the pre-opening lunch and here I am briefly sharing my thoughts of this restaurant for you.
Not long after KFC shook us with their KFC Chochicks, Texas Fried Chicken just recently launched their newest product and one that I'm highly excited about but don't make me compare this to KFC's because both are totally different in terms of concept and flavor, but since I am a classic savory guy who loves to pair my chicken with rice, so this might be the one that fits my preference better.
Following the existing success of their Pamulang, Ciputat and Cibubur outlets, recently Kedai Keibar (aka one of the surviving Indomie cafes in Jakarta) opened its latest venture in Depok. I love Indomie but I don't really go to Indomie cafes to have them because I can't stand the long queue, and I don't think it's worth it to wait hours just to have Indomie, but their creations are quite addicting, kinda like an exception.

I just returned from Jogja and if you've been following me on Instagram and watched my Instagram Stories I was very sick hours before I departed from Jogja, my head felt very lightweighted (I've never been drunk before maybe that's what it feels like), sight was a bit blurry and body temperature was rising, short to say I wasn't in the best state but thankfully as I am writing this blog post I've recovered very well in two days.

Yesterday I paid a short visit to Museum MACAN (not MAnis dan CANtik) but Museum of Modern And Contemporary Art in Nusantara that's just recently opened and have been operating for several days as this post is written, and the museum aims to be showcasing art collections from local and international artists. Many of you ask me where Museum MACAN is, well to actually click on the location will actually help but I guess most of you are really to lazy to do that, so the museum's located on the 5th floor of Wisma KBR, Kebon Jeruk, not too far from RCTI.

With entrance fee of IDR 50k/person (IDR 40k - elders, IDR 30k - children), visitors can enjoy around 90 artworks that's beautifully placed in a 4000 meter square venue, and I notice there are four big categories here: Bumi (earth), Manusia (human), Kampung Halaman (hometown), then Kemerdekaan (independence), followed by Bentuk & Isi (shape and content) and Racikan Global (global recipe). To be completely honest, I am not an art expert so I guess this post will be more like a picture blog post where I show you snapshots from my visit to the museum.

Yayoi Kusama!!!
The one that's been flooding my timeline is of course, the Infinity Room by Yayoi Kusama where she always comes with various ideas no matter where she runs her piece! Each visitor will be given 40 seconds to enter the room (but honestly it felt way less than that like 20/30 seconds). When I checked my inbox earlier today I guess around 10 people sent me pictures of how long the queue for the Infinity Room is and lucky for me there was no queue that time LOL!

NOTE: Because of the super high interest towards the infinity room, do come around 3 because at certain days the queue closes at 4 PM and other days at 5 PM! Do check them or contact them personally for details, otherwise your trip here (especially if this is your main interest) would not be pleasant.
Tour de Museum!
This is shady but I love it!
Andy Warhol!
21st century human!
Right after the exit you'll find a small merchandise store where you can shop and help them. They are a non-profit organization so I guess they rely on sponsor funds and these items to help.
I may not be someone with the biggest knowledge of art nor can I say I have the biggest interest towards it, but going here was kinda fun and I really did explore and see what they have in store and I AM SUPER GLAD for the arrival of Museum MACAN because as a visitor myself and based on my visits to museum around the world I found that, reality is, the location and the venue became one of the main reasons why people like me don't go to museums, there are museums with no air-conditioner, there are museums where I feel like the artworks not well care taken, there are museums which vibe just doesn't really give me the impression to go back. Not everyone may agree but that's my opinion solely as a visitor (not as someone who's an art expert) and Museum MACAN came with comfort and I like it. The artworks showcased here are beautiful and I guess regardless the different style, the different approach, the different narrative on each, there will always people who understand and appreciate them (or short to say, a fan).

The current exhibition will last until March 2018, still plenty of time!
One thing that's funny to me is the fact that the more digital the life that we live in, the more I realize that the photos that popped on my Instagram feed are getting more and more analog with film-like feel and even more amazing, the fact that analog photography is kinda re-living and getting more fans, you don't know just happy I am!
I first heard about Bake-a-Boo when my dear friends: Andrew Yaputra, and Cindy Lulaby from Lulabyspoon often posted about their Iced Chocolate on their Instagram Stories so I got a bit curious and just last week I finally had my first encounter with this highly raved and talked about bakery, FYI they have two small outlets in Muara Karang and Menteng (soon in Serpong) but I won't be sharing about my experience visiting their outlets and will focus more on their products (and in no way this blog post is an ad).

I JUST JUST came back from the launching of Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC)'s newest creation and one that I honestly didn't see coming: KFC CHOCHICKS: SPICY CHOCOLATE CHICKEN! Yes their fragrant crispy chicken meets sweet and spicy chocolate sauce dressed on top!
A couple of days ago I paid a visit to Mandiri Pekan Raya Indonesia at Indonesia Convention Exhibition (ICE) BSD which is still running until November 5th 2017, the event was divided to different categories but of course I focused more (and more interested) on the Kuliner Indonesia Kaya and Warung Indonesia Kaya where it's all about food and cooking!
This post would be the third time that I am actually talking about Sushi Hiro, the main reason why each of my visit needs a good proper blog post is because they always have something new to offer: slightly difference ambiance, but mostly the new menus that are not only delicious but also Instagram Worthy! The F&B business in Jakarta can get very tricky and very extreme to the point where changing trends, opening and deceased outlets are almost monthly 'scene', that's why most restaurants (unless they're crazy good) needs to be creative, keep up with the qualities in order to survive, and Sushi Hiro is hands down, really one of the most successful ones in town, and frankly speaking, everytime I see the long queues in front of their restaurant, I can't help not to think about the amount of money they're making everyday (lol but I sometimes did).

I don't know if this restaurant needs anymore introduction as it's probably one of the most famous in the bunch! Raa Cha is a restaurant that focuses in serving barbeque and suki cuisine and I remember vividly the moment when this restaurant opened, I was in my first year of my high school, strolling Pluit Village (which was Megamal Pluit) and Raa Cha was just opening, still a very fresh brand that time and it was almost a decade ago #timeflies, their first outlet was in Cihampelas Walk Bandung and a couple of weeks ago I visited their newest outlet in Harmoni XChange to have a quick lunch with my mom and so glad that they opened here as it's very close to our house!
I have been extremely busy this month, if not this has probably been the busiest month so far this year. Right after coming back from Bali, everyday is basically waking up in the morning, doing shoots, go to 1/2 events per day, and no I am not whining, I am just 'expressing' how physically exhausted I am this month but in the same time so very grateful that life keeps me busy #blessed.
For me, some restaurants are not just a place where I go to dine and leave, some restaurants managed to leave certain impressions in me because I grew up with them, and shared my younger days and memories with. I am honestly very glad to the ones who can survive and make it at the rapidly changing food business and trend, and one of the many that I have in mind is surely Restaurant Penang, and special thanks to my parents for bringing me here the very first time because it's always the parents who kinda introduce us to the good eating places.
I love Japan, to the point where I am lost for words to describe my love for Japan, or even to describe Japan itself, but one thing for sure, it should be on everyone’s bucketlist and you better believe me on this one.
My Hokkaido blog posts are seriously one of the most requested this year and it's been one month since the trip and I have been missing Hokkaido so badly and I found myself reopening the folders and reedit the photos (and I don't know if it's just me but I sometimes can edit one photo to several editing style lol). I've been dreaming of going for so long and finally got the chance to travel and on top of it, shared the happiness with my sister, clearly one of the best highlight of the year that I'll forever keep in mind.
The major food event, Taste of The World, is happening at PIK Avenue and I was invited to come check out the event on its opening day and blogging my experience for you guys, the event is here to stay until October 1st 2017 at their Main Atrium, that means you still have 6 days to come and see what they have in store.
Okay now this is exciting: the famous BAKE CHEESE TART is finally opening in Indonesia with Jakarta (particularly Grand Indonesia) being where the first outlet is located the country! The cheese cake and tarts trend is really booming here in Indonesia, particularly in Jakarta and the amount of new businesses focusing on this particular product is really getting a bit insane! I remember when it hasn't opened in Singapore, the only place where I could buy their cheese tarts is in Hong Kong (and last year I happened to visit Hong Kong more often than Bangkok), and in certain ways I am so glad that more and more famous foreign food businesses are coming to Jakarta and expand here, making it super accessible for us to purchase their stuff.
